Incognito chats
An incognito chat writes nothing to your memory: nothing you say or correct is kept, and no summary is made. What Dropstone already knows about you is still available to it, so the work gets the same assistant without leaving a trace.
An incognito chat is a conversation that leaves nothing behind. What Dropstone already knows about you is still there to draw on, and nothing from the conversation reaches your memory or your history.
Start one
From the composer, choose the incognito option. The conversation is marked so you can tell it apart.
What is different
What it knows stays available. Your standing rules, your facts, what Dropstone has studied: it can still draw on them, because they were learned elsewhere, with your consent. An assistant that forgot you would be worse at the task and no more private. What changes is that nothing new is written down.
Nothing is learned from it. Corrections you make are not turned into lessons. Nothing Dropstone discovers becomes a fact. No conversation summary is kept.
It is not saved to your history. Incognito conversations do not appear in your sidebar or in search once you leave them.
It cannot be shared. There is no link to make.
When to use it
- Something you do not want Dropstone to learn from
- A one-off task where your usual rules would get in the way
- Trying an approach without it becoming a preference
- Checking how Dropstone behaves for a new user
What it does not change
Incognito is about memory and history, not about the request itself. The conversation still counts against your usage allowance, files you attach are still processed for that conversation, and the same data handling applies to the request while it is being served.
If you want Dropstone to forget something it has already learned, incognito will not do that; see Change or forget a memory.
In an organization
If your account is in an organization that has turned content logging to full, a temporary chat is recorded in the organization's archive like any other conversation. The temporary chat says so itself: "Not saved to your history, but the organization records conversations on this account."
