Find any past conversation by what was said in it. Search covers your whole history in Dropstone Chat, including conversations inside projects.
Every conversation you have had in Dropstone Chat is searchable, by title and by content.
Search
Use the search box at the top of the sidebar, or the keyboard shortcut shown there. Type a few words from what you remember and matching conversations appear as you type, with the matching line shown so you can tell them apart.
Search covers conversations inside projects as well as loose ones. It does not include incognito chats, because those are not in your history.
Search versus memory
These are different things, and it helps to know which you want.
Search finds a conversation. It is the transcript: what you asked, what Dropstone said. Use it to go back to something.
Memory is what Dropstone learned. It is much shorter and it is applied automatically. Use it when you want to know what Dropstone will do, not what it once said. See See what Dropstone has learned.
If you remember discussing something but cannot find it, and it was not incognito, it may have been deleted; deleted conversations are not searchable.
Picking up an old thread
Open a conversation from the search results and continue it. Dropstone has the full context of that conversation, plus everything in memory, so you can carry on where you left off.
You do not always need to find the old conversation. Dropstone keeps short summaries of what you have worked on, so starting a fresh conversation about the same subject often brings the context back on its own. See How Dropstone remembers you.
