Control your smart home
Connect SmartThings and Dropstone can see your devices and their live state, tell you when one is offline, and control them: TVs, monitors, ACs, lights, plugs, speakers, thermostats, and locks. Plus watching a device and acting on it.
Connect SmartThings in Settings, under Connectors, and Dropstone can see the devices on your account, read their live state, and act on them.
What it can do
See. Every device with what it supports, and the current state of any one: on or off, brightness, volume, mode, temperature, lock state, and whether it is online.
Control. Turn a TV, monitor, AC, light, plug, switch, or speaker on and off; set volume, brightness, or temperature; switch input; change a TV channel; lock a door. It can run a sequence across several devices at once.
Check. It reads a device before acting on it, and reads it again afterwards, rather than assuming the command landed.
Ask in plain language: "turn off the living room AC", "is the front door locked?", "set the bedroom to 22".
When a device is offline
A device that is offline cannot take commands, and Dropstone says so rather than pretending the command worked. Check that it is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi or its hub, then ask again.
Watch a device, and act on it
A watcher can watch a device's state and tell you when it changes: the front door unlocks, or the temperature goes past the number you set. It can also act when it fires, locking the door or switching something off, with an alert or silently. Watchers run in the background, so you are told rather than having to ask. See Watchers.
Disconnecting
Disconnect SmartThings in Settings and Dropstone can no longer see or control anything on the account.
