Choose a model
Dropstone offers three models, Fast, Pro, and Heavy, tuned for different kinds of work. Fast and Pro are available on every plan. Heavy is included with paid plans. Here is how to pick.
Dropstone runs on three models. You pick from the selector in the composer, and the choice applies to that conversation.
The three models
Dropstone Fast. The default, and the right choice for most work. Quick replies, low usage, strong at everyday writing, analysis, and coding. Reads images and documents.
Dropstone Pro. Stronger reasoning for harder problems. Use it for difficult code, long documents, and tasks where a first-pass answer is not enough. Reads images and documents natively.
Dropstone Heavy. For long, multi-step work: large refactors, research that spans many sources, and tasks Dropstone breaks into parts and works through over time. The highest usage per request.

Every model counts against your weekly usage allowance, but not equally. Fast uses the least per request, Heavy the most. See How usage and limits work.
Picking one
Start with Fast. It handles the large majority of tasks well and stretches your allowance furthest.
Move to Pro when Fast's answer is not good enough, when the problem is genuinely hard, or when you want more careful reasoning.
Reach for Heavy when the task is long rather than hard: work that needs many steps, many files, or many sources, and that you want Dropstone to carry through rather than hand back to you halfway.
Memory is the same on every model
Your memory does not depend on the model. Switch models mid-project and Dropstone still knows your rules, your facts, and what you have been working on.
Model versions
The three names are brands, not specific models, and each carries a calendar version: the number is the date the lineup shipped rather than a count of releases. This is calendar versioning (CalVer), the convention a monthly release train uses.
Dropstone numbers a lineup YEAR.MONTH: the first number counts years from the first lineup, the second is the calendar month.

Every month the strongest model available for each tier is re-evaluated and becomes that month's pick. The name stays the same and what sits behind it improves, so the selector shows the version you are using and the release notes say what changed with it.
